Facebook Downloader

Download public Facebook Reels and videos

Paste a supported public Facebook Reel or video-post link. SaveMingo resolves the progressive MP4 sources Facebook exposes publicly without asking for your Facebook password.

Any supported Instagram, X, Pinterest, Reddit, TikTok, Facebook or Threads link works here — SaveMingo detects the platform automatically.

Facebook public-video guide

What SaveMingo verifies before a Facebook video becomes downloadable

A visible Facebook post is not automatically a safe downloadable media source. The Facebook adapter first validates a supported public video URL, loads the public post surface inside an isolated resolver, keeps only HTTPS media candidates from Facebook's media CDN, and passes those candidates through the same bounded delivery checks used by the rest of SaveMingo.

Supported public video URLs
Use a public Facebook Reel, Page video-post, watch, or video.php link that identifies a numeric video ID. Profile pages, feeds, groups, Stories, photo-only posts, arbitrary shares, and copied CDN links do not enter this phase's supported resolver path.
No account bypass
The resolver works only with media Facebook exposes on its public web surface. SaveMingo does not request a Facebook password, import browser cookies, reuse a logged-in session, or attempt to turn restricted content into a public download.
Progressive MP4 evidence
Facebook can expose separate progressive video URLs for a public post. The current Facebook phase chooses the strongest identifiable progressive source and avoids presenting additional rows when it cannot prove dimensions or another user-meaningful label.
Shared Meta CDN safety
Facebook and Instagram can both deliver media from fbcdn.net. SaveMingo therefore keeps the social-platform identity explicit through the shared media route while still revalidating every redirect against that platform's allowed media hosts.
Resolution and output details

How the Facebook resolver handles a public video

SaveMingo validates the Facebook hostname and supported video-link shape before contacting Facebook. Reel links are resolved through the corresponding public watch surface using the Reel's numeric ID; supported Page video and watch links stay tied to their own numeric video identity.

The resolver looks for the progressive playback sources Facebook exposes in the public page data. Candidate URLs must use HTTPS and remain on Facebook's media CDN. Duplicate URLs are removed, and sources identified as higher-quality progressive variants are preferred without guessing dimensions or bitrate that the page did not prove.

The browser never receives a raw signed media URL as a direct external navigation target. Preview and download requests go back through SaveMingo's shared media route, which revalidates the explicit Facebook platform context, the media host, redirect boundaries, content type, size limits, and live byte availability.

What the Facebook result does — and does not — claim

  • A Download option represents an actual progressive MP4 candidate exposed for the public Facebook video; SaveMingo does not create a synthetic quality selector.
  • When Facebook exposes several progressive sources but does not provide enough normalized metadata to label them clearly, SaveMingo keeps the strongest identifiable source instead of showing duplicate-looking MP4 choices.
  • Unknown dimensions, bitrate, file size before probing, watermark state, source-file originality, or encoding details remain unknown until SaveMingo can verify them.
  • File size can appear after the shared media probe reports a reliable declared byte count. Bitrate remains hidden from the normal result row under the existing SaveMingo result-truth rule.
  • A historical or research fixture is not treated as a guarantee that every future public Facebook post will remain extractable; each request still has to pass the current public resolver and media-delivery checks.
Errors and troubleshooting

What common errors mean

Unsupported Facebook URL
The link does not identify one of the supported Reel/video forms, or it points to a profile, feed, group, Story, photo-only post, or another route outside the current Facebook adapter.
Private or login-only content
Facebook is not exposing usable video media through the supported public page. SaveMingo stops instead of asking for credentials or importing a logged-in browser session.
Video not found
The numeric video ID may have been removed, changed, or no longer resolve to a public Facebook video.
No downloadable progressive source
The public page was reached, but no supported Facebook media candidate survived the resolver's HTTPS and media-host checks.
Temporary Facebook response
Facebook can change or temporarily limit its public page data or CDN delivery. A later retry may differ, but SaveMingo reports the current request truthfully instead of substituting unrelated media.

Troubleshooting

  1. 1.Copy the exact public Reel or video-post URL again instead of a profile, feed, group, Story, photo, or direct fbcdn address.
  2. 2.Open the Facebook post while logged out or in a private browser window. If Facebook requires an account to expose the video, it is outside SaveMingo's public-only boundary.
  3. 3.Retry once after a short delay if the post is still public but Facebook returned a temporary or incomplete response.
  4. 4.If a previously resolved media URL expires, paste the original Facebook post again so SaveMingo can resolve and verify a current delivery path.

How it works

Copy. Paste. Download.

Three simple steps from the public post or pin link to the available media on your device.

01

Open the public Facebook Reel or video post and copy its link.

02

Paste the Facebook link into SaveMingo. The URL determines the platform even if you started on another downloader page.

03

Download the available MP4 source, or open Preview first to inspect the resolved video.

FAQ

Common questions.

Which Facebook links are supported?

The current Facebook adapter accepts supported public Reel links, Page video-post links, and watch/video.php links with a numeric video ID.

Can SaveMingo download private Facebook videos?

No. SaveMingo does not collect Facebook passwords, cookies, or session data to bypass private or login-only access.

Does Facebook expose more than one video quality?

Sometimes Facebook exposes separate progressive sources, but the current SaveMingo Facebook phase prefers the strongest identifiable source instead of showing ambiguous HD/SD rows when dimensions are not proven.

Are Facebook photos and Stories supported?

Not in this phase. The current Facebook scope is public Reels and video posts only.
