One Instagram carousel link can resolve several real media items
Carousel posts are different from single-media Instagram posts because one public URL can represent several ordered photos, videos, or a mixture of both. SaveMingo keeps those children as separate logical media items so item-level choices, Preview, and Download All continue to refer to the actual post structure.

- Mixed media
- A supported carousel can contain both image and video children. Each child is normalized according to its own real media type and available renditions.
- Ordered items
- Resolved carousel children stay in post order. Renditions belong to the child they came from and are not mixed across slides.

- Private, removed, follower-only, or login-required carousels are not bypassed. SaveMingo only returns items it can verify from public responses.
Resolution and output details
How carousel resolution differs from a single post
After validating the public Instagram post URL, SaveMingo resolves the post record and checks whether it contains a carousel media list. Each usable child is normalized independently as an image or video item instead of flattening the entire post into one fake file.
SaveMingo can retry or use another verified resolution path when a temporary upstream response fails, but it stops when the source is private, unavailable, unsupported, or cannot be verified safely.
If a child exposes several genuine image or video candidates, SaveMingo can keep those renditions attached to that specific child. This prevents a quality choice for one slide from silently changing a different slide.
Download All, Preview and item-level choices
- Download All is a convenience action over the resolved logical items; it does not convert the carousel into a ZIP, slideshow video, or other new format unless such a feature is separately implemented.
- Preview lets you move through individual items and use item-level download controls without changing the original carousel order.
- Image children remain images and video children remain videos. SaveMingo does not silently convert one media type into another.
- Known dimensions and genuine rendition choices stay item-specific. Unknown quality, format, bitrate, watermark or file-size facts are not invented.
Errors and troubleshooting
What common errors mean
- Single-media post
- The pasted post may resolve as a single photo or video rather than several carousel items. SaveMingo returns that supported media here; matching pages are optional for media-specific guidance.
- Private/inaccessible carousel
- Instagram is not exposing the post's media list publicly. SaveMingo stops rather than requesting credentials or bypassing access controls.
- Carousel removed or not found
- The public post no longer returns a current media record for the supplied shortcode.
- Incomplete upstream media
- Instagram returned a post response but one or more expected child records could not be normalized safely. SaveMingo will not fabricate missing slides.
- Temporary upstream failure
- A timeout, rate limit, or changed public response can interrupt resolution. Retry later rather than repeatedly forcing the same failing request.
Troubleshooting
- 1.Copy the carousel post URL itself instead of a screenshot, profile link, or direct media-CDN URL.
- 2.Verify the whole carousel is publicly visible while logged out. Private or login-only posts are outside SaveMingo's supported boundary.
- 3.If the post actually contains one media item, SaveMingo returns it here. The Photo, Video, or Reels pages are optional when you want guidance outside a carousel context.
- 4.Retry once after a short wait when Instagram is temporarily rate limiting or timing out.
- 5.If an older item download stops working, resolve the carousel again so every displayed child uses a current verified delivery path.
